Vodacom Tanzania and Flickswitch have announced the availability of SIM Manager in the country. The SIM Manager is a mobile connectivity management platform for companies looking to provide Mobility and Internet of Things (IoT) services to their customers on the Vodacom Tanzania network.
Vodacom has launched the service as part of the company’s drive to offer a better digital experience for enterprise customers. “We firmly believe that the launch of this service will stimulate innovation and support for both SME’s and large corporates alike with the necessary business tools to address their mobile requirements. Our smart SIM Manager Service ensures that business SIMs are loaded with data as they need them. This reduces the costs of managing device SIM cards, whilst at the same time ensuring operational uptime.” said Arjun Dhillon, Enterprise Business Unit Director at Vodacom Tanzania.
The service, named Vodacom SIM Manager, is the first of its kind in Tanzania. “This is a significant step forward in growing our offering to business customers” said Dhillon. The African device connectivity and IoT market is perfectly positioned for rapid growth in several sectors, not only in traditional areas such as mobile workforces, fleet management and point of sale, but also in new areas such as advanced agriculture, utility metering and smart security. These all require tools to manage large numbers of SIM cards more effectively. Managing communication costs is an important factor in many industries and a key enabler for economic growth in these sectors.
The new Vodacom service creates an innovative mobile eco-system that gives businesses in Tanzania with large scale communication needs access to self-help online SIM management tools. Customers can now self-provision mobile numbers and build their own monthly packages by setting up smart Top-Up rules.
“We are delighted to continue the expansion of our enterprise self-service platform in partnership with Vodacom” said Kees Snijders, Managing Director of Flickswitch Group. “Our SIMcontrol platform now services 2,000+ enterprises across 10 African countries, generating close to $7M of revenue for our Telco partners annually”.
