VIDEO: Watch the Legendary Little Richard Discussing Why He Remains the King of Rock and Roll

Born Richard Wayne Penniman in Macon, Georgia, in 1932, Little Richard is a pioneer of rock and roll and is fondly remembered for his immense influence in bringing the genre to the limelight in the 1950s.

Known for his very conspicuous, flamboyant and feminine dressing, the extremely talented Little Richard, during his heydays, was a very confident and outspoken person and claimed to be the king and architect of rock and roll.

In a very memorable interview he had on BBC’s Late Night Line-Up in 1972, the ‘Long Tall Sally’ hitmaker spoke extensively about his music, life, unapologetic style and how he took The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and a host of others on tour with him when they were up-and-coming msuicians.
