Rihanna was honoured with the Harvard Humanitarian Award and turned up at the Ivy League school to give a thank you discourse that left individuals in affection with this woman!
She was given the honor because of her cutting edge disease treatment focus and the grants and instructive projects she has made for the adolescent. Say what you need in regards to RiRi however she has ALWAYS given back!
At just 18, when she first hit the American scene but was by no means rich she started her first charity foundation.
Cancer treatment is particularly dear to her as her beloved Grandma Clara “Dolly” Brathwaite passed away in 2012 after a battle with the illness.
For the speech, she held her confidence, flicked her hair and pursed her lips. Joked about coming back to study and getting a degree but mostly gave a strong message about being a humanitarian. She told the crowd:
“You don’t have to be rich to help somebody. You don’t have to be famous. You just do whatever you can to help in any way that you can.”
“We are all human and we all just want a chance. A chance at life, a chance at an education, a chance at a future really,”
“All you need to do is help one person, expecting nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian.”
“My Grandma always used to say, if you got a dollar, there’s plenty to share.”
