This young elephant has proven to be the true king of the jungle indeed, it succeeded in scaring away the most dreaded animal on earth, not just one but fourteen of them when he found himself in a skirmish with a large group of lionesses.
The young calf known as Hercules suddenly found himself separated from his fellow elephants and was surrounded by dangerous set of Felines, along the Norman Carr Safari Camp in Zambia, Africa. It will amaze you how the young elephant fought gallantly, against all odds, he didn’t let the big cats get the best of him.
“In the many years I have been a safari guide in Zambia at the South Luangwa, never have I seen anything like this,” said Innocent, a safari guide at the reserve.
“We were all so worried the elephant would be killed right before us. What a fighter,” he added.
At one point, the poor animal had three lions on his back simultaneously. But he kicked and bucked and did all sorts of things possible to get to the river, where he thought the lions couldn’t catch him. it was unfortunate, they were having none of it, they simply charged straight into the river.
Jusst at the last moment, the brave elephant turned around and charged the lions, gathering up just enough momentum to break their circle and make it out of the area alive. 14 strong able bodied lions is what we’re talking about here.
“It’s hard to judge what actually happened,” Innocent continued. He also said that behavior in such situations may differ from place to place, depending on various conditions.
Because elephant calves are unbelievably insecure when separated from their herd, it is truly amazing what took place in the video, now seen by over 2.8 million people on YouTube.
We can actually learn something from this act, and one is that we have what it takes to face any challenge in life, all it takes is a little bit of courage, determination and action. Fear can only attract defeat, but boldness will ward off every opposition and challenge.
