Uganda To Begin Exporting Electricity To DR Congo!!

Uganda is about to become an electricity supply nation. The country will commence supplying electricity to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) at least in the next three years, reports the Daily Monitor.

Uganda signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide power to eastern Congo a week ago.

“The financing of the project will be about $150m. Of that amount, Uganda will contribute about $22m and the rest will be the responsibility of DR Congo government. Once that funding is secured, it will take two years to complete the project, which could be by end of 2019 or there about,” said Uganda’s Energy minister Irene Muloni.
