Uganda: One Dead, Two Injured In Mabira Forest Accident

One person was on Friday confirmed dead as two others sustained serious injuries following an accident in Mabira Forest.

According to the Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto, trailer registration number UAN 460D/UAL250E that was heading to Kampala from Jinja knocked a Fuso truck registration number UBA 563U that was ferrying maize to Jinja.


Ms Butoto identified the deceased as Semeo Nangizi, 32, whose body was taken to Kawolo Hospital mortuary while the injured, identified as Frank Seruwu and Isaac Kirobe, are currently receiving treatment at the same Hospital.

Ms Butoto attributed the accident to careless driving and overloading.

However, police, she said is investigating the matter to establish the mechanical conditions of the trucks.
