U.S Vice President, Joe Biden ‘Tears Up’ As President Obama Honors Him With Medal Of Freedom!!

President Barack Obama surprised his Vice President Joe Biden Thursday, making him cry by bestowing upon him the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction.

The event was initially said to be a tribute to Vice President Joe Biden but no mention of an award had been made. President Obama spoke in glowing terms of his Vice President at the event and after he was awarded, Joe Biden reportedly said, with tears in his eyes;

“I don’t deserve this but I know it came from the President’s heart.”

Biden was awarded the medal of freedom for what the President put as; “faith in your fellow Americans, for your love of country and a lifetime of service that will endure through the generations.”

Prior to that, the President showered him with numerous compliments and heartfelt statements such as;

“If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person you’ve got a problem.

“Behind the scenes, Joe’s candid, honest counsel has made me a better president, and a better commander-in-chief.

“And all of this makes him, I believe, the finest vice president we have ever seen. And I also think he has been a lion of American history.

“The best part is, he’s nowhere close to finished.”

The two have had a bromance that initially surprised many in the political world considering Joe Biden who was also running for the Democratic nomination in 2008 had made negative comments about then Senator Obama that had caused public censure.

President Obama had, however, caught most people off guard when he chose Biden as his running mate and the two eventually turned out to have a pretty solid working and personal relationship.

Biden’s remarks after the awards also showed his high regard for President Obama, as he said; “I’ve never known a President and few people I’ve ever met my whole life … who have had the integrity and the decency and the sense of other people’s needs like you do, I was part of the journey of a remarkable man who did remarkable things for this country.”
