Top 10 Most Used Words on Social Networks

A social network is a service to bring together various people to create an exchange on a particular subject or not. We have several social networks, but the best known are Facebook, Youtube, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat … everyone has an appropriate vocabulary. AfrikMag is the top 10 most used words on social issues.

Avatar  : a digital character, photo or image that represents a user on the web.

Buzz  : English word for a buzz. It describes the communication made around a product or a person.

Follower  : someone who follows someone else on twitter or LinkedIn. If I am so-and-so, I am the follwer of this one.

Hashtag, hashtag, hashtag  : Keyword, series of words or theme preceded by the number symbol used to index and classify content. Often used on Twitter to help people find a discussion on the same topic.


Influencer  : A person who has a strong influence on social media and who is often targeted by marketers as a brand ambassador in social media.

Like  : action to like a content (video, photo, quote) or a page. This term is often used in Facebook jargon.

Retweet  : On Twitter, a tweet that a user sends to his subscribers. The abbreviation “RT” is placed in front of the shared tweet.

Viral content  : content (video, image, photo, video) that quickly reaches a large audience on the Internet, usually through email and sharing sites.

Status  : A WhatsApp status allows you to share text, photos, videos, and GIFs that disappear after 24 hours.

Identification  : action to identify your friends on social networks by putting the sign “@” followed by the name of your friend who will receive a notification.
