Togo’s President, Faure Gnassingbe tells Women: “You’re the Cement of the Togolese Nation”

Togo did not remain on the sidelines of the celebration of International Women’s Day. Several organizations initiated actions on March 08 to mark the event. On this occasion, the Togolese head of state did not fail to address a message.

“You are the cement of the Togolese nation. Ladies, find in these modest words, the strong resonance of a tribute that no sentence will have the merit of translating with fidelity, ” he wrote on his official Twitter account.

By words obviously chosen with care, the President of the Republic reaffirmed the role that the women in the development of the country. “May it please you, my dear mothers, sisters, and wives, to find in these words the magnificence of your bravery, of your abnegation, and of your sacrifices at all times. Ladies, find in these modest words, the strong resonance of a tribute that no sentence will have the merit of translating with fidelity, ” he continued in another tweet.

Note that this day is marked in Togo by several activities. Activities that took place not only in the capital but also in the provinces. Beyond the party, it is an opportunity for reflection on the situation of women in the country.
