Colon cancer is the third – most leading cancer in the world. Fewer than one million cases are recorded every year. It’s terrifying, isn’t it? With the help of a few easy tips, you can avoid colon cancer and protect yourself from the polyp cells which sometimes, changes into cancerous cells.

Routinal Steps To Avoid This Growth
1. Proper Vitamin D and Calcium:- Getting a proper calcium efficient diet, like, 1.2 – 1 mg for both women and men is essential. Vitamin D should be taken— 600 IU/ day. Get in the sun, or get it from your dairy foods, like, eggs, milk, yogurt, etc. but try to add an ampleamount of Vit. D and calcium in your diet.
2. Multivitamins:- Consider eating foods with Folate like broccoli, dark green leafy vegetable, citrus fruits etc. Avoid overdose of multivitamins.
3. Screening tests:- If you are hitting 50’s, you should start taking the initiative for regular screening tests. 6. Keep your distance from harmful rays:- Studies have found that the X- rays, UV and UV-B rays have cancerous effects on your body.
7. Work out:- A person should try incorporating a rigorous workout for at least thirty minutes a day. If you don’t like working out, try to expand your sedentary lifestyle to other physical activities, like walking, cycling, jogging, swimming, kick- boxing etc. The release of endorphins after a good thirty minutes of workout or more will boost mental health and will make you more productive. Physically as well as mentally.
8. Drink moderately, if you are a heavy drinker:- A person should just drink one glass a day, if he/she is a heavy drinker. Studies suggest women should limit their drinks to a single drink / day and men should limit it to two drinks / day. People who drink regularly are at a greater risk for colon cancer than people who drink occasionally.
9. Limit red meats:- Run from processed meats. If red meats are a regular occurrence in your diet, cut it to a minimum. Like, twice a week in your diet. Try avoiding processed meats as much as possible.
10. Diet rich in fiber/vegetables:- A bowl of beans never sounded healthier. Eating more than three helpings of vegetables with your roti/ flatbread and adding spices like, garlic to your curries will reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by ten percent.
11.Eating raspberries and sipping green tea considerably reduce your risk of different types of cancer. Green tea is known for its detoxifying and fat burning properties. It’s good for the body, either way. So, drink it up.
