The Story of Ronald Melly, The Fake Kenyan Doctor Who Performed 8 Successful Surgeries

Ronald Melly worked for many years at the reference hospital in Kapsabet County, Kenya, without anyone realizing he was a fake doctor. According to a report from forum.facmedicine.com, the fake doctor would have performed several surgeries on patients without the necessary qualifications.

The shady business of the fake doctor was brought to light after a report prepared by officials of the Ministry of Health was tabled in the Assembly.

The report, which surprised the majority of the public, contained the names of all the people who went to Mr. Melly’s home. The document states that the quack doctor had operated nine people; eight of them managed to escape and another died.

County Health Department Chief Officer Edward Serem said the patient who died in the fake doctor’s hands was pregnant, but they managed to save the baby.

“During the surgeries, he and a group of doctors operated on the patient who was then pregnant, but she died because she had severe complications, but they managed to save the baby,” Serem said. Nandi’s governor, Cleophas Lagata, also added that doctors would be examined more seriously to ensure that such cases do not happen again.

” I have never seen the fake doctor and the public should not blame the county government since the doctors are employed by the tutelage ministry. I asked that the health staff working in the county be monitored, “ he said.

For its part, the health committee, chaired by Norbert Maiyo, believes that the government should instead train Mr. Melly and allow him to continue working “because it is good”. Mr. Melly’s family also supports the health committee’s call to help train their parents to become a qualified doctor.
