Tanzanian Siamese Sisters Maria & Consolata Mwakikuti Reported Dead; President Magufuli Reacts (Video)

The Tanzanian Siamese sisters, Maria and Consolata Mwakikuti, died at the age of 21 from heart disease, the presidency said.

The two girls, who were stuck in the abdomen, shared organs like the liver and lungs.

They were hospitalized in December because of heart problems but they died last Saturday at Iringa hospital.

The announcement of their death was received with great sadness because they had become very famous.

On Sunday, many people sent messages of condolence to family and friends.

Tanzanian President John Magufuli tweeted that he was “saddened” by their deaths, adding that Consolata and Maria “dreamed of serving the nation. “

In an interview with the BBC last year, the twins declared that after completing their university studies, they would become teachers.

Abandoned by their mother after the death of their father, Maria and Consolata Mwakikuti were welcomed by Catholic charity Maria Consolata.
