Tanzania Partners With Nollywood To Improve Its Film Industry

Renowned Nigerian actor Mike Ezuruonye arrived in Tanzania yesterday as part of the East African country’s efforts to strengthen ties with the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood.

The award winning actor is expected to be in the country for a couple of weeks for some joint work with his local counterparts according to the report by Daily News.

The celebrity who has featured in several high ranking Nollywood movies exchanged views with Tanzania’s Minister of Information, Culture Arts and Sport Nape Nnauye on ways the Nigerian Film industry can partner with the Tanzanian film industry.


“This is a good beginning, to have such cooperation between local Art and that of another country on the African continent,” Nnauye said, when receiving the visitor.

The Tanzanian minister is creating an opportunity for films from Tanzania to enter Nigeria which known as the leading filmmaking country in Africa and has a very big local market.

The East African government is creating a welcoming environment for international talent so that they can bring their technology, knowhow and experience to the local film industry according to the Minister.

Nnauye said that he hopes the cooperation will connect Tanzania to more cooperation, enabling African artists can connect the continent through art, be it films, music or any other form of art.
