Sweden: Ghanaian Footballer King Sarfo Jailed for Rape Deported to His Country

Ghanaian international footballer King Sarfo has been released from prison in Sweden after being charged with rape on a minor. He was released earlier than planned for good behavior in prison.

He was sentenced to 2 years in prison after pleading not guilty, saying that he had slept with the girl because he did not know she was a minor.

Sarfo was also extradited to Ghana under the orders of Attorney Rikard Darell of the Malmo District Court in Sweden.

He had gained in importance in his career after Ghanaian national team coach Kwesi Appiah invited him to join the national team in 2017. He played against Uganda in Ghana’s qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup that year.

Unfortunately, Sarfo’s international career was shattered by accusations of rape and incarceration.

According to reports, he would be ready to relaunch his career with a local team in Ghana.
