The billionaire behind the online retailer Asos lost three of his four children during the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.
Anders Holch Povlsen, the largest private landowner in England and the richest in Denmark, was on vacation with his wife Anne, 40, and their children Alma, Astrid, Agnes and Alfred when bombs exploded on Sunday Easter.
The couple did not reveal revealed the identity of the deceased children. The latter attended public schools in Denmark. Bestseller’s spokesman, Mr. Povlsen’s garment empire, says only one survived.
“Unfortunately, we can confirm the information,” Bestseller’s spokesman said in an e-mail.
“We ask you to respect the privacy of the family and we have no further comments.”
The death toll in attacks in Sri Lanka is now 290, after a series of bombings in churches and luxury hotels on Sunday.
The police arrested 24 people but no one claimed responsibility.
