South Sudan Now Charges Foreign Businesses $4,000, Work Permit Fee Of $100 Now $10,000


The Ministry of Finance suspended the plans to hike the expenses in April after feedback from a few associations that are restoring the war-assaulted nation.

The expense has been diminished to $4,000 and it will produce results in November, the service said in an announcement that classifies specialists and the sum they will be charged.

Specialists and administrators will be charged the $4,000 expense, experts will pay $3,000, professionals will pay $2,000, talented laborers will pay $1,000 dollars, incompetent laborers will pay $500

“Extraordinary installments with the old rate are to be cleared with the Central Bank and the service with prompt impact. Inability to do as such will bring about accuses of new rate

“Work permit forms that were taken earlier and submitted after 22nd October, will be charged with the new rates,” the statement added with a warning that defaulters will pay a fine of $200.

The world’s youngest country plunged into conflict in December 2013 after a political feud between President Salva Kiir and armed opposition leader Riek Machar, who are from rival ethnic groups.

The conflict has killed thousands of people and driven more than 2 million from their homes.
