South Africa’s Cape Town International Airport Named Africa’s Best Airport

South Africa’s Cape Town International Airport has scooped yet another award after being named Africa’s best airport at the SkyTrax World Airport Awards. With a target to handle around 14 million travelers last year, the second busiest airport in South Africa, and the third busiest in Africa has consistently bagged regional and international awards for its world class infrastructure and service.

South Africa’s Cape Town International Airport has scooped yet another award after being named Africa’s best airport at the SkyTrax World Airport Awards.

Three other South African airports made it into the continent’s top 10 with East London ranked fifth; Port Elizabeth sixth and Bloemfontein eight respectively.

According to Skytrax, which conducted the research, the awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry which are voted by customers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The results arereportedly based on 13.02 million customer nominations across 112 nationalities of air travellers, and included 550 airports worldwide.

With a target to handle around 14 million travelers last year, the second busiest airport in South Africa, and the third busiest in Africa, Cape Town International Airport has consistently bagged regional and international awards for its world class infrastructure and service.

In another survey last year, the airport was ranked number one in the “Best Airports in Africa”, and came in at number 26 in the “Top 30 Best Airports in the World”.

The news of the latest award has been widely celebrated on social media, with praise mostly going towards the airport’s commendable service and pristine amenities.
