South African DJ, Black Coffee Wins 2016 BET “Best International Act, Africa”

DJ Black Coffee became the first South African artist to win a BET Award in Los Angeles – and it appeared not to go down well with AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes

Black Coffee won the Best International Act, Africa category at the 2016 BET Awards which took place yesterday. He beat Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, AKA, MzVee, Cassper Nyovest, and Serge Beynaud to win the award.


Black Coffee is a multi-award winning record producer and DJ. He began his career around the year 1995 and has released five albums and a live DVD under his Johannesberg-based record label, Soulistic Music.
