A native of Senegal, Boucar Diouf holds a PhD in oceanography. He was lecturer in biology at UQAR for ten years, having even been admitted to the Cercle of Excellence of the Université du Québec in 2007.

Revealed to the general public by his career as a humorist, Mr. Diouf is also a recognized scientific popularizer. In addition, he has hosted Radio-Canada’s radio show “La nature selon Boucar”.
Two UQAR graduates rewarded
Professor Rakia Laroui and sociologist Laure Waridel, who received an honorary doctorate from the Université du Québec under the aegis of UQAR, were awarded the rank of knight.
The recipients of the Ordre national du Québec were decorated on June 22 at a ceremony in the Legislative Council Chamber of the Parliament Building. Founded in 1984, the Ordre national du Québec is the most prestigious recognition awarded by the Québec government.
