Senegal Getting Ready To Host The Youth Olympic Games In 2022

This Tuesday in Pyeongchang, South Korea, was marked by the official opening of the 132nd session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Senegal, participating in these activities did not hide its ambitions. The country could well organize the Youth Olympics 2022 (YOG-2022) if given the chance. He announces his candidacy.

Senegal has ambitions and it is not President Macky Sall who dares to say the opposite. Nevertheless, the context is quite different, in short it is not politics but sport! On the proposal of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to entrust the organization of the YOG-2022 to an African country, the country of “Teranga” has not hesitated to be willing and available.


If everything is finally confirmed, he will join directly the other candidates that are Morocco and South Africa. “As soon as we have received the specifications, we are ready to apply,” said Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye, president of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee. He believes that his country has the means to achieve its ends and that all conditions are met in one way or another. “We have recently renovated or built a lot of sports facilities and infrastructure,” he said.

For the moment, the Youth Olympic Games that take place from October 6 to 18, 2018 are the responsibility of Argentina. The host country of the Youth Olympic Games in 2022 will have to be known next October.
