Saudi Arabia Opens its Army to Women Under Certain Conditions…

For the first time, Saudi women are allowed to perform military duties.

At the end of this month, the Ministry of the Interior has decided to submit applications for several posts in a number of provinces, giving women the opportunity to apply.

Vacancies do not involve candidates in leading military roles, but are offered the opportunity to work in security services.


Several criteria are required, including two that set an age range of 25 to 35 for female candidates and a high school diploma.

Considered very conservative, Saudi Arabia lifted some bans on women. For the past few weeks, Saudi women have been allowed to drive and watch football games.
