The 14 year-old Etienne participated in the youth football tournament which attracts players in Mallorca between 6 and 16 years old and his team, Mallorca, won the U14 tournament, Afrizapreported.

Clearly, football runs in the family. We look at other players who have followed the same trend, emulating their fathers or relatives to become professional footballers.

Jordan, Andre and Ibrahim Ayew

Plying their trade in the English Premier League and Ghana Premier League, Jordan (Aston Villa), Andre (Swansea City) and Ibrahim (Asante Kotoko), the Ayew brothers have successfully followed in the footsteps of their father, Abedi Pele Ayew. Abedi Pele is considered one of Ghana and Africa’s soccer greats and he had a successful career with Lille OSC and Olympique Marseille.

Alex Iwobi

Arsenal’s newest starlet, 19 year-old Alex Iwobi is the nephew of former Nigeria and Bolton captain Jay-Jay Okocha.

Alex Song

Former Liverpool, West Ham and Cameroon defender, Rigobert Song is West Ham midfielder Alex Song’s uncle.

Do you know of any other current or players of yesteryear who have followed the same trend?
