Ramadan: Senegalese President Macky Sall Orders “Stability” of Staple Food Prices

The blessed month of Ramadan starts this Thursday for most Muslims in Senegal. To ensure the “stability” of the staple food, the Head of State Macky Sall pronounced on the question during the Council of Ministers.

On Wednesday, May 16, the President of the Republic asked his government to take appropriate measures to keep the prices of food and staple goods stable throughout the month of Ramadan.

Through the communiqué of the Council of Ministers, Macky Sall asks to “scrupulously ensure the correct supply of markets in staples and to ensure price stability.”


Macky Sall urges prosperity and solidarity in Senegal

At the same time, the Head of State expressed his “warm congratulations” to the entire Muslim community. In addition, he sent his “best wishes for health and happiness” on the occasion of the blessed month.

“The President of the Republic formulates with the whole Nation fervent prayers for the consolidation of a Senegal united in peace, prosperity and solidarity,” the statement said.

Senegal starts Ramadan on Thursday, along with several other countries in the sub-region.
