“In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021,” the message reads.

Prince Philip’s death comes just a month after damning revelations were made by the Duke and Duchess about their time as working royals in an explosive TV interview, with Oprah Winfrey.

During the interview, the couple revealed that one unidentified member of the family had expressed concerns about the skin colour of their son Archie, although later clarified that it was not the Queen or Prince Philip.

The two-hour interview was aired while Philip was in hospital after surgery on his heart.

No official details have been released yet about the Duke’s funeral.

However reports indicate that he will be given a royal ceremonial funeral rather than a state funeral, in line with his wishes.
