Presidential Election in Libya: Gaddafi’s Son Saif al-Islam Formally Announces Candidacy

Less than 6 months before the next presidential and legislative elections in Libya, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has announced his candidacy.

The announcement was made through one of his relatives from Tunis, where a press conference was organized for the occasion. Since his release in June 2017, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has always expressed his desire to become the president of Libya.


Even though he himself has not spoken for the moment, his electoral program has been unveiled. It comes down to two points: dialogue and national reconciliation.
