American film star Steven Seagal has been appointed special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, responsible for Russian-American humanitarian ties, Russian diplomacy said on Saturday.
“His job will be to assist in the development of US-Russia relations in the humanitarian field, including cooperation in the field of Culture and Art,” the ministry said in a statement shared on its Facebook page.
The department also stated that this position is similar to that of a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and does not provide for compensation.
