Catholic Christians gathered to observe Pope Francis while he was leading Mass on Christmas Eve in St. Peter’s Basilica. During the procession, the pope told believers that God loves everyone, without exception.
According to the Daily Mail, the Pope also unveiled a new statue of the baby Jesus in a manger at the foot of the altar, while he told everyone that the birth of Jesus reminds us that Christ loves everyone .
“God does not love you because you think and act the right way. You may have misconceptions, you may have made a complete mess, but the Lord continues to love you, ”he said.
Pope Francis also asked the faithful to stop trying to change others because they must allow themselves to be transformed by Jesus.
“Do not wait until our neighbors are good before doing them good, that the church is perfect before loving it, that the others respect us before serving them. Let’s start with ourselves, ”he said.
Mass marks the start of a busy schedule for the Pope, who also delivered a Christmas speech. He will also conduct the New Year’s Eve and the January 1 mass.
