A young boy named Shafiq Ahmed was honored by Muslims through social networks for memorizing the entire Qur’an in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria.
Mohammed Chiroma shared the news on Facebook, congratulating the boy’s father, Ahmed Shehu, staff member of the Maiduguri Agricultural College.
Congratulations Shekh Shafiq Ahmed for memorizing the Holy Quran. All parents of Islamic faith want to see his son be like that. May Allah reward you, Ahmed Shehu, for your efforts in giving him such wonderful knowledge.
A few months ago, it was also reported that a six-year-old boy, Salim Abdulkareem, has in less than a year memorized the Holy Quran and can also write it. At the age of five, Mr. Salim Abdulkareem was admitted to the international school of Professor Ango Abdullahi in Zaria in May 2016, and in April 2017 he memorized the entire Quran.
Salim, at the time of admission, was considered a beginner, not recognizing a single Arabic alphabet for not speaking about writing. With this achievement, Salim has been nominated for a Quranic recitation contest to be held between August and September in Saudi Arabia.
