Oprah Winfrey Restates She Will Not Run For President

Oprah Winfrey in an interview on the 60 Minutes Overtime on CBS This Morning, restated that she will not run for president in 2020 because she was not made for it.  Despite having willing sponsors, she said that she has not heard from God directly.

She said that the reaction she got from her Golden Globes #MeToo speech and was overwhelming and really humbling, “I am actually humbled by the fact that people think that I could be a leader of the free world, but it’s just not in my spirit. It’s not in my DNA”, she said.

Her speech attracted worldwide accolades and prompted people to call on her to contest. On that she said,

“I was just trying to give a good speech. I was looking for a way to express what was going on in this moment in terms of gender and class and race. I cared about landing that speech in the room.”

This will be the second time she is saying she will not contest. The first was in Instyle Magazine.
