Duduzane Zuma, a son of South African President Jacob Zuma, denied his involvement in a suspected corruption case despite his ties to controversial businessmen, especially his commercial partnership with the Gupta family.
The filtered e-mails on the links between President Zuma’s family and the Guptas led to an inquiry into possible political influence, but so far President Zuma and the Gupta family have repeatedly refuted wrongdoing.
Duduzane Zuma recently said in an interview with the BBC that her ties with Gupta’s wealthy family had nothing more than “a friendly guy. I do not think they wanted anything from me. They loved me as I loved them. ”
Duduzane, who is one of the 21 children of the South African president, insisted that he was “not corrupt”. I did not get involved in a practice or in corrupt business, “he said.
Members of the Gupta family are accused of using their ties with the president to try to influence political decisions.
It is said that email leaks were “politically inspired”. Since taking office in 2009, President Zuma has faced allegations that his close ties with the Gupta family have been used to influence the appointment of key ministers.
