Nigerian, David Oyelowo Becomes The First Black James Bond

David Oyelowo announced Wednesday he’s the next Bond, James Bond. But not in a way people wanted Idris Elba to be the first Black Bond. Oyelowo will voice the Bond character in an audiobook.

Oyelowo was asked by the Bond creator’s estate to voice Bond and other characters in the audiobook version of the new Bond book Trigger Mortis, the book will be published on September 8th and reunites Bond with Pussy Galore.

Oyelowo most recently rose to fame for his depiction of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Ava DuVernay’s Selma, and in his one man movie Nightingaleon HBO.
