Murder of Nigerians in South Africa: Cyril Ramaphosa’s Message to Buhari

About 127 Nigerians have been killed in three years in South Africa. According to the South African media from January to June 2019, about ten Nigerian nationals have lost their lives in anti-migrant actions in the South African capital.

This Wednesday, August 28, the two heads of state had to talk about this situation, while they were in Yokohama to attend the Tokyo International Conference on the Development of Africa.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed sympathy for Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. “As for the Nigerians who are dying in South Africa, we are very unhappy about that. It is clear that our criminal justice system is working on it. We do not support murders, “Ramaphosa said, saying” no one should ever be killed “in South Africa.

He also said that his government would “resolutely solve the murders of Nigerians in his country.

The two heads of state agreed to meet in October in the framework of bilateral actions of these two African powers.
