Money Transfers to Nigeria Could Be Back Soon (Latest Update)

Couple of weeks ago, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, blocked hundreds of firms for money transfers to Nigeria from other countries in the world, leaving only three companies – Western Union, MoneyGram and Ria to continue operations in the country.

In an email from Azimo, an online service that allows people send money to friends, family and their clients revealed that their platform could be back soon. The email reads….

As you know, like many other money transfer services we had to temporarily suspend our service to bank accounts in Nigeria a couple of weeks ago.

We’re getting in touch to let you know we are still working hard at getting things back to normal. We are meeting with the Central Bank Governor in Abuja this week and hope to have some good news soon after that.

We know how inconvenient the service disruption has been and thank you for your patience.
Thanks for using Azimo
