Mohamed Salah Beats Samuel Eto’o’ Record, Sadio Mané On The Same Track

The record of goals scored in the league of champions during a season by an African player in this case Samuel Eto’o was beaten by the Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah who currently plays at the Liverpool Reds. Even if the Egyptian is the only one for the moment to achieve this feat, other African players could also follow suit. Senegalese Sadio Mané is not far away too.

While the Egyptian has recently scored his eighth goal in this season (2017-2018) of the league champions against Manchester City, he has just matched Samuel Eto’o who had scored eight goals during the 2010-2011 season when he was playing in Milan. It was during the match in which Liverpool won 2-1 against Manchester City that Salah scored his eighth league goal this season.

His Senegalese teammate Sadio Mané has seven goals in the league for the season for the current season alone. The Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also 7 achievements in C1.

Even if the record of goals scored in C1 by an African will know a new player, it remains that the former captain of the indomitable lions of Cameroon Samuel Eto’o continues to write the beautiful letters of African football on the side of KonyaSpor.

After the Turkish club made the decision to strengthen the winter transfer window by bringing the Cameroon striker, KonyaSpor hoped to quickly leave the red zone of the 1.Lig championship where he is stuck for months. Last Sunday against SivasSpor, Samuel Eto’o made a name for himself by scoring a double. First in the 69th minute free kick masterfully executed, then in the 75 th on a pass from teammate Ömer Şahiner.
