Jeffrey Jordan, the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting hospital staff at a Scottsdale hospital after he was taken there for medical treatment, ABC15 Arizona reported.
Scottsdale police said officers had gone to the Casa Amigos club to respond to an unrelated call when security at the establishment asked for their assistance to move Jordan out so he could receive medical attention.
Police said Jordan was bleeding after he lost his footing and hit the back of his head against a table. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. But while receiving treatment at the medical facility, authorities said Jordan allegedly assaulted hospital staff.
Jordan was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. He was, however, transported to the Scottsdale City Jail where he was booked on one count of aggravated assault on a healthcare professional. He was released barely an hour after he was booked.
Authorities also said they are yet to bring charges against him. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office will, however, look into the case and decide on the next line of action.
