Ronaldinho and Messi formed an excellent partnership, helping Barcelona win several trophies, including two in La Liga and the Champions League before the 2002 World Cup winner left for AC Milan.
The 39-year-old man, who retired in 2015, said:
“When I arrived in Barcelona, we were already talking about a child who stood out,” Ronaldinho told Panenka magazine.
“Then we became friends; we started playing together and got along very well. He happened to be different from everyone else, and we spoke with [Frank] Rijkaard to come and train with us – everything was very fast. ”
“I was lucky to give him the pass for his first goal. Over time, it has become very nice to see someone who starts so close to you and then conquers the world. ”
He added,“ We were always very close. We learned things, he taught me Spanish and I taught him Portuguese, but with the ball, we understood each other perfectly. ”
“I was amazed at how calm he is. It’s something I like about him; he never has problems, he is always with his family and loved ones. Messi has everything, he didn’t need anything from me. ”
