Meghan Markle Seeks Advice from Famous Friend, Serena Williams Over Cruel Online Abuse

Tennis star Serena Williams has offered Kensington Palace the services of her PR team to help deal with the situation, according to The Sun. The team, headed up by Kelly Bush Novak, aim to help her “set the record straight and shut everything down”. Meghan, 37, who is pregnant with her first child, has been the target of online trolling for months.

She has been friends with the tennis champion for nearly a decade after they met in 2010.

Williams, who is also 37, gave birth to her first child, Alexis Olympia, in 2017.

Whilst no official steps have been taken yet, Williams apparently hopes to help Meghan with her public image and rumours of a Royal rift with the Duchess of Cambridge.

A source close to the athlete reportedly said: “Meghan is still acclimatising to the Royal way of dealing with things – she is very much used to the ruthless Hollywood PR machine.

“She and Serena are extremely close, and Serena effectively offered to lend Meghan her team.

“Her publicist Kelly put a small team together to create a pitch, and have been in touch with the Palace under an official capacity with a few ideas.”

Representatives from the company also look after Madonna, Ben Stiller and Patrick Stewart.

The source added: “Meghan’s obviously had some horrible trolling, plus people keep speculating about her relationship with Kate, so Serena feels she needs the ‘big guns’ behind her to set the record straight and shut everything down.

“Meghan has a great relationship with her current Royal PR team and doesn’t want to rock the boat or upset anyone.

“But obviously she’s very grateful for Serena’s ongoing support.”

The tennis star was a guest at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry last year.

Meanwhile, the Duchess has watched Williams in her element at Wimbledon.
