Meet The Highest Paid Ghanaian Footballers In The US Major League Soccer

The Major League Soccer (MLS) Players Union have shared in-depth salary details of every player in their growing league. The list features Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard alongside the likes of Robbie Keane, Sebastian Giovinco and the surprising wealth gap between the Wright-Phillips brothers, Bradley and Shaun.

Black Stars striker David Accam is the highest paid Ghanaian footballer in USA as his 650, 000 Dollars annual salary makes the Chicago Fire striker the best paid player from the West African country plying his trade in the Major League Soccer.

Portland Timbers’ goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey currently rakes in 260, 000 dollars, while Montreal Impact speedster Dominic Oduro comes close in third with 250,000 dollars per year sum.


Lloyd Sam who plays for New York Red Bulls and Vamcouver Whitcaps’ midfielder Gershon Koffie both earn 230, 000 Dollars a year respectively.

Surprisingly, Harrison Afful earns an eyebrow-raising salary of ‘just’ 150, 000 Dolllars per year, in comparison to Kwadwo Poku who scoops 60, 000 Dollars at New York City.

Brazil legend and former Ballon d’Or winner Kaka tops the earnings list with his $6.6m-a-year salary with Orlando City, while former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard comes close in second with an eye-watering $6.2m per year sum.
