She gave the kickoff of their first game in the Pros, during the meeting that pitted Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen counting for the 2 nd day of the Bundesliga. A referee since 2007, she officiated the final of the 2012 London Women’s Olympic Tournament and the Women’s Champions League this year.

The 38-year-old policewoman had already accumulated a great deal of experience, officiating about 80 second division matches. She had been selected several times as commissioner (fourth referee) in the German league but never as a referee.

After a no-fault arbitration at the Olympiastadion, Bayern star Franck Ribery and other players congratulated her.

“Congratulations on the first match of the Bundesliga, #Good_job,” said the French footballer.
