Meet The 10 African First Ladies Who Play Similar Roles As Their ‘President Husbands’ [Photos]

Far from playing the reducing role of accompanies of their “husband-presidents”, the first African ladies are at the forefront of the fight against HIV / AIDS. Despite the many efforts in this direction, the pandemic continues to decimate lives on the continent. It is therefore urgent to accelerate the response to end AIDS.

As much as their husbands strive to find solutions to corruption and insecurity, these scourges that hinder the development of Africa, 17 wives of African Heads of State discussed the policies or the policies to fight against  HIV / AIDS on the continent.

This was in favor of the 20th Ordinary General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies Against  HIV / AIDS  ( OAFLA ), which took place on the sidelines of the 30th AU Summit in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The ambition was to achieve a significant reduction of pandemic cases by 2020.
