Meet Pascal Agboyibor, 2nd Most Influential Business Lawyer in French-speaking Africa According to JA

Young Africa and Young Africa Business have just made public for the second year in a row the ranking of the 50 most influential business lawyers in French-speaking Africa. This ranking establishes the list of women and men who have accompanied the major issues of 2017 in French-speaking Africa. As should be expected, heavyweights naturally figure in this new ranking. But, according to JA, there are, with rare exceptions, some unknowns of the general public who work as shadow advisers, far from the media coverage enjoyed by their criminal colleagues.

The second place in this ranking is occupied by a Togolese in the person of Pascal Agboyibor, a renowned lawyer, who is unfortunately little known to Togolese opinion, unlike his father (Me Agboyibor Ayawovi), also a lawyer, but who has been involved in politics since the 1990s.

” Pascal Agboyibor – Orrick Rambaud Martel: The Togolese, director of the Africa department of his cabinet, is a reference that the States (Mali, Guinea …) are tearing down like African and international companies. Accustomed to long-term files, he has made significant progress on the Grand Inga dam, which he manages for DR Congo, and signed the Desiwa project for Gécamines ($ 800 million, or 735 million euros), “reads the Jeune Afrique website.

The top spot in this ranking is occupied by Moroccan Hicham Naciri – (Naciri & Associates Allen & Overy) According to JA, Hicham Naciri is a super star of business lawyers. ” At 48, the son of the president of the Bar and Justice Minister Mohamed Taieb Naciri, is sure of his status to have associated the name of the firm founded by his father to that of Allen & Overy when he joined in 2011 the American firm. Ranked number one in our list, having been sixth last year, he negotiated in 2017 more than twenty files with significant financial amounts across the continent. Essential in Morocco, it is driven by the African deployment of major groups in his country and now intervenes throughout the continent, “the newspaper said.
