Meet Khalil Gharian, The Tunisian Minister Who Resigns 5 Days After His Appointment!!

A Tunisian minister whose recent appointment provoked the anger of the powerful union of the Tunisian Labor Union, renounced his post on Thursday, “to avoid a crisis”.

On February 25, Khalil Gharian, a member of the executive board of the Utica employers’ group, was appointed as the new Minister of the Civil Service and Governance, replacing Abid Briki, a UGTT alumnus.

This was strongly criticized by the central trade union, which calls the appointment “provocation” and asked the government to reverse its decision.

The principal concerned, “to avoid a crisis”, just chose to give up his post.“In view of the political and social tension we have experienced in the country over the last 48 hours, and after careful reflection … I asked to meet the head of the government and I presented him with my resignation , Khalil Ghariani, at the private radio Mosaic Fm.
