Jo-Issa Rae Diop, is a young woman of Senegalese origin who currently cracks all Hollywood by her impressive talent.

Issa knotted with popularity, when she actually started creating web-series on YouTube, including Akward Black Girl and First.

Through her creativity, she became one of Hollywood’s most prominent actresses, writers and producers, making her fight against stereotypes her trademark. Due to the success of her web series, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, in which she portrays her “black awkwardness”, she attracted more than 200,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel. This is the beginning of a meteoric rise.

The musician Pharrell Williams calls on her to feed her own web series, and she creates her site, to disseminate the work of other artists (mainly African-American).

His new series, Insecure, broadcast on HBO, one of the most watched TV channels in the United States, has propelled him to the rank of world star. Tired of being dictated by the communities, all colors confused, it depicts with brilliance and humor the daily life of a woman haunted by doubt, gaffeuse, a thousand leagues from the strong black woman usually seen on the screens .

Issa Rae, 32, was born to a Senegalese father, Dr Abdoulaye Diop, a Senegalese pediatrician living in the United States and an American mother, Delyna Diop.

The young woman, although she has an American kinship, has nonetheless enhanced the image of Africa in general and Senegal in particular. By distinguishing itself by its qualities of producer, actress, writer and creator of web series, it thus valorizes the whole Africa by its talent.
