Mara Messenger will compete directly with products such as WhatsApp, Viber and WeChat, and will offer a number of unprecedented features. The instant messaging application will also allow users to share their position, scribble images and disseminate information to groups. Mara Messenger is now available on iOS, Android and BlackBerry and will include voice memos and video features.
Thakkar plans to deploy Mara Messenger in multiple languages and on multiple devices, making the application accessible to everyone across Africa and around the world.
