Liberia’s President George Weah Visits Ivory Coast Twice in One Week

After his visit to Abidjan on March 26th as part of the Africa CEO Forum Awards, the Liberian president returns to Ivorian soil. George Weah is expected April 4 and 5 in Abidjan for a visit of friendship and work.

At the press conference following the Council of Ministers held on Thursday, March 29, the spokesman of the government, Bruno Nabagne Koné said: “On Wednesday 4 and Thursday, April 5, 2018, we will have the official visit of Liberian President George Weah’s work in Côte d’Ivoire.


In his communication, the Minister of Communication, Post and Digital Economy said ” This is a friendly and working visit of Liberian President George Weah to Côte d’Ivoire .”

On 28 December 2017, the former footballer and Ballon d’Or was elected to head Liberia. On Monday, January 22, he officially took office in Monrovia, the Liberian capital. The investiture took place during a ceremony attended by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.
