Kim Kardashian has hit back at claims that she had bought the bloodstained shirt of President John F. Kennedy as a gruesome gift for her daughter.
The 39-year-old Keeping Up with The Kardashians star has recently bought a couple of iconic Michael Jackson items for six-year-old North West.
She bid and won the legendary pop singer’s jewel-adorned black velvet jacket as well as his ‘Smooth Criminal’ hat from Julien’s Auction House.
Kim paid $65,625 (£49,986) for the jacket which was worn by Jackson to Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday celebration and the 50th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
The fedora hat set her back $56,250 (£42,845).
The reality star has drawn the line at reports that she has added the shirt that JFK was assassinated in November 1963.
In an article published by Refinery 29, the claimed that she made the morbid purchase, based upon an Instagram post in which a pic of the bloodstained shirt was captioned with “Along with the Michael Jackson’s jacket and hat, North also got the shirt John F. Kennedy wore when he was assassinated.”
This was all mocked up under Kim’s Instagram header to make it look like a genuine post that had been shared.
Kim was not happy and soon took to social media to shut down the allegations before they could pick up any traction.
She shared a tweet that read: “I AM SCREAMING someone tweeted as a joke that Kim Kardashian gifted North JFK’s bloody shirt and Refinery 29 wrote about it as if it were true????”
The mother-of-four wrote with it: “WOW this is obviously fake! @Refinery29 I did not get JFK’s shirt. That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake IG story that I never posted.”
The publication wrote in an article: “The visual of the shirt posted on her stories is jarring – and raises questions about why anyone would give a child something so violent.”
Refinery 29 has since edited the article and removed any mention of the fake purchase.
