The Beyond Zero drive was named as the activity of the year and perceived as the most grounded brand under an exceptional class of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in East Africa.
Mrs Kenyatta, who is the patron of the Campaign, received the special award in appreciation of the initiative’s tremendous work in improving maternal and child healthcare in Kenya.
The drive emerged top in a night which also saw 52 other heavyweight brands from the region being recognised.
She was hailed for campaigning for maternal and child health and personally running grueling marathons locally and abroad to mobilize resources to purchase mobile clinics for all the 47 counties.
The accolade was given by Superbrand East Africa, the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding based in the United Kingdom.
Project Director and Associate Publisher Superbrands East Africa Jawad Jaffer said the branding arbiter was excited to pay tribute to the most valued brands in East Africa paying tribute to Beyond Zero and its patron.
During the ceremony, Kenyan companies dominated the honors list where 32 local brands received recognition compared to 14 from Tanzania and 6 from Uganda.
