Kenya’s Equity Bank Named Fastest Growing Bank in Africa

Kenya’s Equity Bank has been placed as the fastest expanding Bank in Africa. The bank was named by The Banker report which is released by the Financial Times. The report ranks the most effective 1,000 banks worldwide.

However, the bank came a spot behind KCB in the top 25 African banks list. The bank is ranked as the 25th largest bank in Africa and position 835 in the world while KCB is ranked position 24 in Africa and 808 in the world.

 According to the report, Equity Bank had a 29.8 per cent growth in core capital last year to Sh65.5 billion in the 2015 financial full year. KCB on the other hand had a a 2.2 per cent growth in tier 1 capital.

Currently, Equity Bank has branches in six African countries while KCB has presence in seven African countries.
