Judicial Request for Medical Expertise; Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Expected in Court On July 29

In Gabon, the members of the collective Call to Act were convened this Monday, July 15, 2019 by the Court of Judicial Appeals of Libreville within the framework of the judicial request for medical expertise on the Head of State Ali Bongo Ondimba, informs Gabon Media Time. The number one Gabonese being absent, the hearing was returned to Monday, July 29, in respect of the adversarial principle.

According to our source, the contradictory principle requiring the presence of both parties at a hearing, only the Collectif Appel à Agir “was present at the hearing of the first chamber of the Court of Judicial Appeals Libreville”.

It is therefore in order to respect this principle, which guarantees the rights of every individual and the absence of the opposing party, in this case Ali Bongo Ondimba, that the President of the Court, Paulette Ayo Mba, referred the examination of the case to Monday, July 29, 2019 at 9 o’clock. On that date, Ali Bongo or his representative will be summoned before the Court, writes the media.

It goes without saying that even though, since his return, the head of state has been trying to steer the country on the path of development, some civil society organizations find him inactive and demand from him a declaration of vacancy of power. .
