“Jesus Christ Is Not The True Name Of The Messiah,” Says A Ghanaian Scholar

A Ghanaian named Paul Osei Agyemang who says he is a specialist in the Bible made a rather controversial statement. He claims that Jesus Christ is not the true name of the Messiah, contrary to what many Christians today believe.

According to him, the true name of the son of God is Yashua and not Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

In an interview with local Ghanaian TV channel Kofi TV, the biblical scholar said that Yashua is the true name of the son of God and not Jesus Christ as many Christians believe.

His comments follow the statement of a Ghanaian Reverend Owusu Bempah who also made the same statements in a recent interview with the same local TV channel.

The statements of these two men have since created a rather hot debate among Christians about the true name of the son of God, some stick to Jesus Christ while others now argue that it is Yashua.

However, Mr. Osei Agyemang, who has been a Bible scholar for many years, insists that many Christians have been misled.

They are not the only ones to have created this controversy, according to some theories indeed, Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus. It means “Yahweh [the Lord] is salvation”. However, once translated from Hebrew to the Greek language, in which the New Testament was written, the name Yeshua becomes Iēsous.
